Editor's note: On Tuesday night, we received an email from an anonymous tipster calling himself "Donald Duck."
Lena Dunham’s upcoming book tour, for her highly-anticipated memoir Not That Kind of Girl, quickly sold out in July. If you didn’t nab a ticket then, and have nearly a grand to spare, you’re in luck: One New Yorker is selling his or her general admission ticket to Dunham’s October 21 reading at the Brooklyn Academy of Music for $900 on Craigslist.
The Nybro Action Team consists of Hjalmar Sveinbjőrnsson and Alex Bejerstrand, two under-employed friends and former Nybro residents now living in northern Sweden. Hjalmar is a student and a chef; Alex helps run his father's talent agency. They will be recapping Season 3 of HBO's Girls. This is their final recap.
A girl, 9, shaves her head in solidarity with a friend who's in chemo, and she gets suspended from school. Another girl, 8, wears t-shirts, jeans and sneakers, and she gets suspended, too. Their institutions have different reasons, but the result is the same: bullshit expectations put on little girls.
Our sister site Jezebel, which has a grand history of documenting precisely how grotesquely fashion magazines digitally carve up their cover subjects into impossible avatars of manufactured beauty, is offering a $10,000 bounty for original, unphotoshopped images from Lena Dunham's recent Vogue shoot. Hopefully Dunham will hand them over and collect.
