The MTV Europe Music Awards (aka the VMAs but with cooler accents) took place today in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Major winners included Lady Gaga, who came dressed up as several versions of the Pixar lamp, and alleged teen mom Justin Bieber. How predictable! One thing EMA viewers didn't see coming, however, was the completely naked man who rushed the stage during a presentation by Hayden Panettiere, who managed to appear shocked despite the fact she probably knew it was going to happen. The NSFW video is above.
Just like the weekend, the 63rd Primetime Emmys are history. This year's telecast was hosted by Glee's Jane Lynch and aired live on Fox from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Despite Alec Baldwin's last-minute pullout, pretty much every small screen star showed up to celebrate television's biggest night.
The Jane Lynch-hosted 63rd Annual Emmys are underway in Los Angeles. Early in the broadcast, Ricky Gervais poked fun at his controversial turn as Golden Globes host and introduced the nominees for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy in a pre-recorded, heavily edited video. Lynch then announced the winner on Gervais' behalf, but not before playing armchair psychologist: "Poor little Ricky Gervais. Someone didn't get enough hugs from mommy and somehow it's Hollywood's fault."
If you watched tonight's MTV Movie Awards, then you saw a whole lot of the Twilight cast. If you didn't tune in, then you probably don't know that—in a span of minutes—Robert Pattinson both ditched Kristen Stewart on stage to plant a big ol' kiss on Taylor Lautner in the audience, and said "But I did f*ck you" to Reese Witherspoon during a tribute award presentation (the F-bomb was missed by MTV censors). Above, watch both of the water cooler-worthy moments in one handy video.
Tonight's Billboard Music Awards opened with a raunchy performance of "S&M" by Rihanna, during which a bunch of random hands tried to caress her vagina. Then Britney Spears shot up from under the stage! Except that it wasn't good, because Spears lip-synced (Rihanna sang live), danced like she had arthritis, and even managed to mess up a song-ending pillow fight.
Comedy Central forayed into the awards show market this evening with the airing of its first-ever Comedy Awards. When Jon Stewart predictably won the statuette for late-night talk show, Stephen Colbert pulled a Kanye West and crashed Stewart's acceptance speech in glorious fashion.
Let me begin by saying that I thought I was "hip" to what the kids were listening to—until I tuned into this college-targeted awards show last night. Regardless, Community's Don Glover provided entertainment for the rest of us.
