Korea Air Lines' infamous "nut rage" executive was sentenced to one year in prison on Thursday after being found guilty of obstructing aviation safety. In December, Heather Cho—the company's former vice president in charge of in-flight service—ordered a crew chief off a Seoul-bound flight because she and others in the first class cabin had been served macadamia nuts in a bag, not a dish.

Cho, who is also the daughter of Korea Air Lines' CEO, resigned a week after her in-flight nut freakout, which forced the pilot to return to the gate at JFK and caused a brief delay.

"This is a case where human dignity was trampled upon," Judge Oh Sung-woo said, according to the BBC. "It is doubtful that the way the nuts were served was so wrong."

Another Korea Air Lines executive received an eight-month sentence for interfering with the government's investigation.
