Every Second of This Man's Life is More Interesting Than Yours
The impetus behind Brooklyn-based entrepreneur Cesar Kuriyama's "One Second Everyday" project is fairly straightforward: The essence of every person's day can be boiled down to a single memorable second — so why not hold on to that second, every day, for the rest of your life?
"On the day I turned 30 years old, I started recording 1 second every day for the rest of my life," says Kuriyama. "When I turn 40, I'll have a 1-hour video that encapsulates my 30s. If I live to see 80 years of age, I'll have a 5-hour video that summarizes 50 years of my life."
And looking back on that life, it will undoubtedly seem considerably more interesting than it actually was. Just take a look at Kuriyama's one-year, six-minute sample.
Is he, or is he not The Most Interesting Man in the World?
Kuriyama's One Second Everyday smartphone app, which aims to make it easier for the average person to record their own one-second time capsules, is still in development, but has plenty of backers to spare on Kickstarter.
