Local News Anchor Pretends to Care About His Girlfriend's Job So He Can Propose to Her On the Air
When Alissa Groeninger was invited by her boyfriend, WAND-TV early morning news anchor Mark Rivera, to talk about her role as editor of the weekly Voice section of The State Journal-Register, she thought he had finally taken an interest in her work.
But no: It seems Rivera was just faking an interest so he could get her on the air and ask her to marry him.
Despite the mean-spirited prank, Groeninger, apparently "in love" with Rivera, said yes. Later, on Twitter, Rivera compared his proposal to taking a dump:
