Bad news for those of you who prefer to get your line-art insights on race from something vaguely less reactionary than Mallard Fillmore: It appears that creator Aaron McGruder is calling it quits on The Boondocks strip. While he'll continue to pursue TV and film opportunities, Universal Press Syndicate is warning newspapers that it's unlikely they'll see any new print cartoons. According to a statement from Universal, "[n]umerous attempts . . . to pin McGruder down on a date that the strip would be coming back were unsuccessful."
Goddamnit, another perfect joke we can't make because we're not black.
