A 101-year-old man was among three survivors discovered by rescue workers this weekend in the aftermath of last week’s devastating earthquake in Nepal, NPR reports. According to Agence France-Presse, Funchu Tamang sustained only minor injuries to his hand and ankle after a week spent in the rubble of his home.

“He was brought to the district hospital in a helicopter,” a local policeman told AFP. “His condition is stable.”
Just yesterday, a government spokesperson told CNN the chances of finding any more survivors in Nepal were “extremely slim,” saying, “It will be a miracle if anyone is found alive. But we have not completely given up yet and are continuing to look.”
According to Al Jazeera, the earthquake’s death toll stands at 7,250 as of Sunday, with officials warning the number is expected to climb “much higher.”
