David Gregory: Jerk?

Gregory is affable but charisma-less. I guess it's a matter of taste whether or not that's better than the douche-y charisma of a Matthews or Scarborough or Tucker Carlson. Anyway, the David Gregory-hosted show that is now the meat in a Hardball sandwich is basically a total abortion. Not pretty.

David Gregory is talented, smart and ambitious.

He is also SUPERB at managing up. The man could teach a master class in the subject.

Usually, this ability comes with age and experience, but David had this skill set down cold at a very, very young age. But since he always worked his ass off WHILE kissing ass, it was kind of easy to overlook.

Plus, he's consistently funny.

He was a regular at the Starbucks I worked at for a while in DC. He was much friendlier than the majority of the customers, always tipped, and has amazing hair. However, Tim Russert has a much better sense of humor.

In terms of persona he seems like Sam Donaldson - kind of stupid, but has the ability to fly off the handle with a false sense of outrage when it most counts - during sweeps week.

1) When part of the WH Press Core, he actually asked QUESTIONS and put people's feet to the fire.

2) When he was jamming to Mary J, he had my vote and free rein on one of my ovaries. The rhythm! YES!

But actually, they need to bring up David Schuster. He's never been the same since Hilary threw him under the bus for that "pimp" comment... which was such a stupid issue.
