After 24 hours and some 11,000 votes — by a long shot Gawker's most popular poll ever — the answer is clear: Stephen Colbert's White House Correspondents' Dinner performance was one of the most patriotic acts you've witnessed of any individual.
Naturally, that 75 percent margin of victory proves — proves, damn it — Colbert's patriotic genius. No chance of a selection bias among Gawker readers. No chance at all.

i have a BA in sociology (which really proves a boon in the job market, if i say so myself), and i feel quite comfortable proclaiming that survey completely unbiases, with a p value under .001.
The other night, Colbert alluded to Lewis Libby's slimy lawyers, who are intent on slavering over reporter's e-mails, notes and drafts of stories about the Boy Scoot. SCOOTER'S ROOTERS' REQUESTS There's more: justice demands we see Teacher comments, high school degree, Letters exchanged with former lovers, CD collection, record covers, Financial disclosure, down to the penny, And parents' marriage license, if any.
Just so we're clear: we're pitting awesome patriotism against unfuniness... so, uh... terrorism equals hilarity? "har har...arghh, terror makes me belly jiggle" - i'm a pirate
Absolutely. Bias? Never. In fact, I'd say the results are skewed in that the 12.1% of people who responded "Not really that funny?" obviously suffer from a complete lack of humor.
No wonder Rupert doesn't want to buy you -- you damn liberals!
It's not that hard to figure out... Hollywood liberals, politicians, and White House journalists are about the least likely people to ever laugh at themselves. It was hilarious, but it would take the jaws of life to take the stick out of their collective butts.
it would have been really funny if people at the event would have known who he was, so a presenter after him could have said something like, "Man, Harvey Birdman's boss is an ass!"
