The lede of yesterday's Times Magazine profile of American Apparel bigshot Dov Charney describes the surroundings in the kinky clothier's Los Angeles office:

And at Charney's place, no doubt, the massage is full release.
UPDATE: OK, so, while Marshall McLuhan's famous phrase is "the medium is the message," it comes from his book Understanding Media; he never used the line as a title. He did, however, use the punning phrase The Medium Is The Massage as the title of a subsequent book. But here's where things get weird: By this morning, the Times Mag had "corrected" the title from "Massage" to "Message" on its website. (Clearly, we — and they — know nothing of McLuhan's work.)

Even for the NYT, that story was embarassingly out of touch. It was a complete retread of the Jane story. Did they just need to wait two years and hire a writer with a penis to feel relevant?
Also, I don't get the error. Have I not had enough coffee? McLuhan did write a book called "The Medium is the Massage."
Haha. Those "Regret the Error" people just corrected themselves in the lamest way possible.
