Though our prim sib Wonkette might choose to put the above alleged photo of conservative commentator Michelle Malkin after a modesty-assuring jump, we have no such qualms. If legit — and the resemblance is certainly there — this 1992 shot would put Malkin at a nubile 21, perhaps while still at Oberlin and dreaming of future Fox News stardom. We're going to assume that yellow band on her right wrist was issued by a liquor-serving public house of some description, and that this candid scenario predicated at least a little second-base action for the photographer.
UPDATE: Yes, of course it's fake! You idiots! Sure, that head looks way too tiny for the body, but then we don't want to make any assumptions about Malkin's head size. Enjoy her cyclonic indignation here.
Michelle, You Ignorant Slut ... [Wonkette]

Michelle, the Republicans ARE NOT going to like this! You will be doomed to 20 lashes of egg drop noodles.
Apart from them both being Asian, I don't see much resemblance. Either they're not the same woman, or the last 13 years have been really, really rough on Malkin.
I totally hope it is her, though, my used tampons formulate better arguments than she does.
If experience with this sort of thing has taught me anything, it's that there is rarely only one photo taken during, um, projects like this.
She does have a hot little body happening there though... I doubt this is going to do much of anything for her public image, hell I personally like her even more now.
Ahh, the magic of Cancun...
Whoever that is, she looks good.

"How do we stand up to the Girls Gone Wild culture? Ella Gunderson, the girl who asked Nordstrom's to sell decent clothing has shown us how. Stacy Tabb, the outspoken blogger who killed the "Little Miss Hooters" contest, has shown us how. The Capitol Hill letter-writer who stood up and rejected the idea that getting ahead requires shedding your morals and your clothes has shown us how. Go ahead and be "self-righteous."
Be "prudes." Be "rude." Be "shrill." And never, ever feel ashamed for asking out loud: Have you no shame?"
I know I'll be asked to leave the Democratic party for this but she's hot!
The photo is a fake. Another "fake, but accurate" lib journalism. Congrats!
That bikini doesn't look very 1992-ish.
Clearly fake, and insofar as it led me to contemplate what the REAL Michelle Malkin would look like in a bikini, clearly evil.
She's fat! She's not modeling again in THIS city!
Shouldn't this be a mandatory at all Gawker Media Sites:
Defamer -- Lost audition for E! True Hollywood Story -- Corey Aquino
Deadspin -- Michelle Malkin competing in the AVP Cuervo Gold Ft. Lauderdale Open
Fleshbot -- Girls Gone Wild, Ladies of the Third Reich
Gizmodo -- Special bikini for Nike hidden snatch iPod
Consumerist -- Faulty construction inadvertantely displays Michelle's pubic bone
Apparently Daphne Oz's book came out a few years too late.
Michelle or not, it's an excellent addition to the scholarly archives. Definitely a Bathwater Girl.
Oberlin students never dream of Fox News stardom. They dream of getting a Ph.D. and a tenured position at Berkeley, where they'll make award-winning documentaries that finally make people realize how the present administration and the global economy as a whole are destroying the human race.
Fake or not fake...doesn't anyone have any conservative relatives? They really don't care about this shit. Seriously, it's practically a Christian commandment; you do this stuff young and laught it off later.
Of course it's fake? Is Wonkette (and Gawker) implying that all that stuff about Malkin's hypocrisy and women who wear bathing suits being sluts was written without actually believing, at least for a few moments, that the pic was real?
I call back-pedaling!
And you should be ashamed of yourselves for giving Malkin the chance to toss out this zinger: "Even Reuters could do better than that."
Badda-bing!
She looks so happy back then... I wonder what made her become such a bitch? Maybe her grandma never sent her a care pack of adobo and lumpia shanghai.
It's fake. But let it still be a reminder to us that Republicans should never be photographed in swimsuits. (I'm talking to you, Ann Coulter.)
"Fake, but accurate" journalism is when the facts don't support your case, but your case is just so right it just doesn't matter.
I guess Michelle's opponents have exhausted themselves intellectually so they've "moved on" to challenging her in uh... other areas.
Reuters really could have done this better. Hell, even CBS could have done this better. The really sad thing in all this is that in reality Michelle is probably much hotter than the obvious PhotoShop-faked picture.
People who think the sad thing in all this is the mendacity of the MSM have been in a coma for too long. This is par for the course. Nothing the MSM doesn anymore shocks me.
Ann Coulter, 45.
[chuckling] Everybody periodically manages to be both stupid and unkind at the same time. It only becomes a disaster when you try to pretend that you were neither. All you really have to do is make a real apology, and not only does it completely shut the other side up, but -- because a genuine apology is so rare -- it ironically garners you more respect than you would have gotten for being intelligent and decent to begin with.
I highly recommend that you study Molly Ivins's outstanding apology (http://www.workingforchange.com/article.cfm?ItemID=19337, scroll down to "CROW EATEN HERE") after very stupidly saying that "more Iraqis (civilians) had now been killed in this war than had been killed by Saddam Hussein over his 24-year rule." For one thing, it will give you an excellent chance to bash Michelle -- who really does seem to become more bad-tempered with each passing day, and who long since disappeared from my blogroll -- for the remarkably ungraceful way in which she responded to Molly's first-rate apology. You can see my praise of Molly and my disgust with Michelle's response here: http://redneckperil.blogspot.com/2005/07/this-is-how-you-d...
But when, instead of immediately saying, "Hey, we really screwed up here," you try some sort of lame attempt to pretend you didn't do anything wrong, you hand ALL the high ground to the other person. Molly took the high road and Michelle immediately shamed herself. But since you tried to pass your mean-spirited stupidity off as something you never meant to be taken seriously, Michelle and her cohorts are going to be absolutely free to go off you -- and nobody but your closest friends, or else people who will accept any excuse to detest Michelle, is going to buy this of-course-it's-a-fake-and-I-knew-it-all-along b.s.
In that I'm-so-proud-of-Molly-Ivins-I-could-burst post (which I don't really expect you to go read), I described what a good apology is not: "You don't say that you're sorry that other people have misinterpreted your remarks. You don't say that, if (by chance, and miscommunication, and the highly regrettable hypersensitivity of other people) you have offended someone, then you regret the fact that they took offense." Your update reminds me that I left out another extremely common weasel route, used predominately (but clearly not exclusively) by men:
"Hey, what are you getting all upset about? I was just joking. Jeez, can't you even take a joke?"
My feminist friends used to go absolutely ballistic over THAT one. Guess it's not dead yet...unfortunately.
My apologies for the length of that last comment I submitted. I should have put that into a blog post to begin with instead of filling up your bandwidth.
You don't need to post this comment -- I mean, you can if you want, but that's not the point. I really just wanted to say that I used you as an example of how a particularly unskillful person would go about handling a screwup in a way that makes the screwup much worse than it was to start with. Naturally it's not terribly flattering to you and I thought it only fair to tell you so that you can defend yourself if you wish. Don't feel that you have to increase my traffic by posting this comment and the link; to be perfectly frank, I'm not interested in being overrun by your defenders -- but you certainly deserve the opportunity to rebut.

Steverino - exactly.
Steverino,
Congratulations on the sweeping negative stereotype. Has it occurred to you that your conservative relatives are probably not a statistically valid representation of a population of tens of millions?
