Over at IvyGate, a deliberately non-scientific study reveals some stunning news: Top editors at top publications are not all Ivy League twats! In fact, the breakdown of IvyGate's (again, highly selective) investigation shows a slight edge to the non-Ivy crowd. Also, Conde Nast seems a safe bet if you've only got a G.E.D. Some fascinating stuff to parse here. Still, we can't help wondering about the titles they excluded: Where, for instance, did Jared Kushner go to school? The staff of 02138? We think we should be told.

Perhaps sheer lack of talent cuts down some of the ivy on its way to the top.
What does this have to do with anything?
Think of those poor Dartmouth, Cornell, and Brown grads. Ivy, sure, but not even registering on that bar.
This is what riles up us scrappy scholarship students with modest backgrounds and no connections. We don't envy the money so much as the fact that these people get the interesting jobs.
All you need to get into an Ivy League college is parents rich enough to pay for it and buy the school a new library.
Has Jared Kushner taught us nothing?
Isn't Bush an Ivy leaguer? OKAY?
I wonder what percentage of bloggers went to Ivies?
Can we not have this conversation?
Not to get all "logical" on you, but there are 4,182 American colleges and universities, of which, of course, only 8 comprise the Ivy League. Which means that between 40-47% of American media positions are held by graduates of only 8 schools, or 1/10 of 1% of all possible US schools. Unless my math is off. (I went to Penn State.)
By which I only mean to say that the study reinforces the stereotype, rather than undermining it as you claim.
Note to the half a person from my alma mater who's a mag/newspaper editor: I'm available for freelance work.
If there aren't enough Ivy graduates to go around anymore, it's because they're all here in L.A. trying to get on the writing staff of "The King of Queens."
What a bunch of wiffenpoofs.
*purrs* Say J-Kush's name again. please.
