The Oprah is not pleased.
So we've carefully watched James Frey's appearance on Oprah — this morning's live-blog was a paraphrased summary, obviously — and we are, of course, completely in awe of the whole thing. Best. Television. Ever. After the jump, our photographic recap.

Joel Stein must've been invited because they knew that he's weasely enough not to say anything mean about Frey. And what was up with MoDo pronouncing it "Fray"?
If that's how MoDo pronounces it, then that is how it shall be.
Nan Talese should be run out of town; what a fucking embarassment. What an embarassment for the Newhouse family that she thinks memoir is simply someone's memory and not a serious work of nonfiction that requires some fact checking. I mean any story in any newspaper is at least googled now and then to check the facts. The buck-toothed botoxed beeyiiitch didn't even do that. Worse, she's married to a man named Gay ...
I do feel bad for Frey that he is being held up as an example of all that is wrong with America here. Like the earl grey said, if Oprah would sick her ass (and all the asses of Oprites) on the lies about Iraq, WMDs, health care, corporate fraud, etc. just imagine the actual difference that could be made.
I don't know if the Oprites are really the pitbulls you imagine. They sent an e-mail to the publisher who told them it was true. I think WH reporters sometimes make phone calls.
The amazing thing is how Oprah, The Enlightened One, gets off with a slight apology after what she did on Larry King. No one can fault The Oprah for being duped -- Nan Kempner facilitated that con -- but to say, essentially, that truth doesn't matter so long as something that purports to be true "inspires" you, is just plain fucky.
That Frank Rich pic and caption makes me giggle.
wow. christy. someone has to make a video using the oprah footage and splice it with bush. i bet it's already happening as i type. can't wait to see that.
